Gboard - the Google Keyboard

Keyboard for everyday Android typing

Gboard - the Google Keyboard is Google’s Android keyboard for writing messages, searches, notes and other text. It suits users who want more than basic tap-to-type input, with tools for sliding across letters, dictating text and writing by hand where supported.

Typing and language tools

• Glide Typing: move your finger from letter to letter to enter words without lifting it from the keyboard.
• Voice typing: dictate text when speaking is more convenient than typing.
• Handwriting: enter text using printed or cursive writing on supported devices.
• Multilingual typing: use enabled languages together, with suggestions and autocorrection designed to reduce manual switching.
• Translation: translate text while composing through Google Translate integration.

Emoji, GIFs and keyboard controls

Gboard includes search for emoji and GIFs, making it easier to find a specific reaction instead of browsing through large lists. It also provides gesture controls for common editing tasks: sliding across the space bar moves the cursor, while swiping from the delete key can remove several words quickly. A one-handed layout and an optional number row are available in its keyboard preferences.
