Google Maps Go

Maps and directions for lighter Android devices

Google Maps Go is a reduced-footprint version of Google’s mapping service for people who need directions, local search and transport information without the full Maps app. It is suited to phones with limited memory or users who often rely on slower or less reliable networks. The app works as a Progressive Web App and requires Chrome.

Routes, traffic and public transport

Use it to look up routes for driving, walking, two-wheelers, taxis, ferries and city transport. Route previews help with planning, while traffic information can show delays and busy roads. In supported locations, the app provides live schedules for buses, trains and metro services.

• Search addresses, businesses, restaurants and nearby places
• View phone numbers, customer reviews, photos and other place details
• Save frequently used or interesting places for quicker access later
• Browse maps covering more than 200 countries and territories

Coverage and app record

Google Maps Go is listed in the Travel & Local category and is published by Google LLC. Its catalogue record shows a 4.104925 rating from 348,276 reviews, with 1,000,000,000+ installs. Public transport coverage varies by city, and local place information depends on what is available for each area.
